Hearing impairment and fatigue in everyday life
Kučerová, Kamila ; Hádková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (referee)
The thesis is focused on the relationship between hearing impairment and fatigue in everyday life. The theoretical part first introduces the topic of hearing impairment and fatigue separately, and then connects these two aspects and introduces current knowledge and studies that deal with the issue of fatigue in people with hearing impairment. The theoretical findings are followed by a practical section describing research that aims to analyse and reflect on the impact of hearing impairment on everyday fatigue in people with hearing impairment. To achieve this aim, a qualitative research design inspired by the international research of Holman et al. (2019) was used - in this respect, despite various limitations based primarily on the thesis's specifics, we attempted to replicate the international research. Our research consisted of conducting six semi-structured interviews (n = 6) with adult individuals with varying degrees of hearing loss. All interviews were subsequently analysed using thematic analysis. The results of the research bring several findings - perceived everyday fatigue related to hearing loss is a highly individual matter and manifests itself in most (but not all) respondents to varying degrees. Hearing impairment-related fatigue can result from increased hearing effort or exposure...

Vinklátová, Veronika ; Valešová Malecová, Barbara (advisor) ; Komorná, Marie (referee)
The bachelor's thesis The use of bibliotherapy in the development of reading literacy of prelingually deaf children connects the field of bibliotherapy with deaf studies. The theoretical part summarizes and synthesizes Czech and foreign knowledge about the deaf (with an emphasis on their communication systems and the acquisition of Czech language), reading literacy, its meaning and development, and bibliotherapy and its techniques. The practical part of the thesis contains a proposal for a bibliotherapy program in which clients will work with different types of texts, such as comics, recipes, popular science texts and narration. Institutional support for families with children with hearing impairment from the parents' point of view
ANDĚLOVÁ, Klára
The bachelor thesis consists of two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters and eight subchapters. The first chapter deals with the basic definition of hearing impairment, classification of hearing impairment, description of the specific development of a child with hearing impairment and his/her communication with the environment, as well as information about compensatory aids for children with hearing impairment. The second chapter focuses on the topic of the family, its specificities in both education and communication, as well as the types of institutional support offered to families with a child with a hearing impairment. The practical part deals with institutional support for families with children with hearing impairment from the parents' perspective. The actual research investigation was carried out using a quantitative method, through a questionnaire supplemented with open-ended questions, and the findings and their subsequent evaluation are summarised in the conclusion of the thesis. In the quantitative investigation, it was found that the biggest problem is the lack of awareness of hearing impairment in society, as well as the insufficient education of doctors in this field. The results of the bachelor thesis will serve to give an idea whether the support for families of children with hearing impairment is sufficient and what could be improved in the opinion of parents.
